7 Tips To Getting A Great Brazilian Wax

Many women are very nervous about getting a Brazilian Bikini wax.

There are many places that offer the Brazilian wax to their clients, however, one should be very particular on where they go for this service as it is an intimate and delicate procedure.

This article will give you some insights and tips on choosing a facility, preparing yourself and also what to look for and what to expect.

#1. Look for a place that specializes in this service. There are many day spas, nail, and hair salons that offer this as an additional service, however often times they aren’t doing many of them and it is not their main focus. At The Pretty Kitty, we specialize in this service. It is 95% of what we do along with full-body waxing.

#2. Look for a place that advertises that they do not reuse their waxing sticks. This may seem like a no brainer, however, there are many waxing places that are still reusing the same stick throughout the waxing service to save on costs.

#3. It is important to know that before waxing if you have been shaving, you should allow your hair to grow out for at least 3-4 weeks. The results you will get from your first wax will be much better if you allow time to let your hair cycles grow in first.

#4. Exfoliate the day before your waxing treatment. By removing the dead skin first, your waxing results will be smoother and the wax will remove your hair more effectively.

#5. Taking an Ibuprofen 30-60 minutes before your appointment will help to ease the discomfort. At The Pretty Kitty, our Brazilian waxing appointments take just 15 minutes and we incorporate techniques to help minimize the pain. It’s over before you know it!

#6. The Pretty Kitty recommends waxing every 4-6 weeks. Many places will recommend that you come in every 3-4 weeks, however, we feel that our clients get better and longer-lasting results when they allow more time for the hair to grow in. After regular waxing, our clients are noticing upwards to 4 weeks of hairlessness. This will also save money for the client in the long run.

#7. The first couple of times you wax, you may have quicker regrowth depending on your genetics and hair type, however with consistency and proper exfoliation, you will be able to enjoy smooth long-lasting results.  And finally, read my article about why NOT to wax for the first time before a big event.
