Avoiding caffeine for 5 hours before getting waxed will greatly reduce sensitivity. Caffeine restricts the blood vessels so skin is not getting as much blood flow which increases sensitivity. Taking an Ibuprofen 30 mins before will aid in reducing sensitivity and inflammation. Pregnant women may prone to be more sensitive at this time.
3-4 weeks is recommended. It takes time to grow out each of the 3 cycles. If you come in prematurely you may not achieve a desirable result.

Waxing slows down and reduces hair growth. Hair also grows much thinner thus making it easier to remove and less painful when waxed. Shaving just one time in between will negate all that is gained from waxing and can further irritate follicles which can cause ingrown hair. So, no, we don’t advise shaving in between.
If you have been shaving, there may be a transition period. It generally requires 2-3 consistent waxes to achieve optimal results which are: 3-4 weeks of hairlessness, softer hair, and less hair growing back. If you haven’t been shaving prior to getting waxed, these results may be obtained more quickly.
Absolutely! We just request clients wear a tampon during the service and please be advised that you may be a little more sensitive at this time. We do wax clients while they are mensurating so we don't consider this a reason for a late cancellation.
Our experienced estheticians move quickly. The Brazilian itself should take no longer than 10 to 15 min.
The waxed skin might be tender for a couple of days. We advise taking Ibuprofen to decrease inflammation and skin sensitivity.
Exfoliating in the shower with our Bella Kisse body brush everyday helps to keep the skin free from cellular buildup which can trap hair. We carry PFB which helps to prevent and clear the skin of ingrown hair.
You should wait 3-5 days to get waxed after you have tanned. You should never get waxed if you are sunburned or even if skin is pink. The very top layer of skin could pull off or “lift” which is painful and can result in scabbing. You should wait for 3 days after you have waxed to tan. Waxed skin is more photosensitive and is more susceptible to burning.
We have a no child policy for children under the age of 8 UNLESS they are accompanied by an adult NOT receiving a service. Thank you for your understanding.
All services may be performed on clients from 15-17 years of age with a signed parent consent form. We do not offer the Brazilian to clients under the age of 15, however all other waxing services are available with a signed parent consent form (available at our locations) and accompanied by a parent for the service.
Doctors recommend avoiding waxing if you take Accutane, or if you've stopped taking it less than six months to a year ago. For topical retinoids you should stop for 1-2 weeks prior to waxing so that the skin is less sensitive and you should wait for it to fully heal before resuming use.
The Pretty Kitty provides services to men and those who identify as men with the exception of the Brazilian and buttocks waxing for clients with male anatomy.
